The 4-H Fly Tying & Fishing Club has gotten started back and now our Cherokee Riders 4-H Horse Club is getting kicked off as well with in person meetings!!

width="395" height="298"The 4-H Fly Tying Club meets the 1st & 3rd Thursdays at 3:30p.m. until 5:00p.m. at the Extension Education Room, next to the Cherokee County Parks and Rec office behind the Old Rock Gym. All youth grades 6-12, no matter what school or if they are home-schooled are welcome to join. The address is 699 Conaheeta Street, Murphy. Turn on Conaheeta Street and take the 2nd left turn. The first left on Conaheeta Street is the Murphy Fitness Center and the second left will take you behind the Old Rock Gym to the parking area for our meeting room. Look for the 4-H Clover Signs. The members learn to tie flies, learn how to cast so no previous experience is necessary. The club is free to join. Members will also be learning about the environment and different insects and creatures that they are tying fly’s to mimic. Youth do not need to know anything about fly fishing to join the club.

Cherokee Riders 4-H Horse Club meets the will begin meeting the second Thursday of each month, starting in September 2021, at 6:30p.m., at  699 Conaheeta Street, Murphy. Turn on Conaheeta Street and take the 2nd left turn. The first left on Conaheeta Street is the Murphy Fitness Center and the second left will take you behind the Old Rock Gym to the parking area for our meeting room. Look for the 4-H Clover Signs. All youth ages 5-18 as of January 1, 2021 are welcome to join, no matter what school they attend or if they are home-schooled. The horse club is free to join and helps youth interested in horses to learn more about horses, equestrian equipment, and sometimes even learn riding skills. Youth do not have to own a horse to participate.

As with any of our clubs we would like you to go ahead and enroll so that we can have that part taken care of before the meeting. To enroll go to 4-H Online 2.0 – this site has a link to the enrollment page and some helpful information on how to enroll.
