Description:

Class #3 of 9
Do you love shopping at your favorite local food spot? Do you enjoy learning new and exciting ways to cook? Are you always sharing recipes with your friends or on social media? Currituck County Cooperative Extension Service is currently seeking community members to serve as volunteers in the new Extension Master Food Volunteer (EMFV) pilot program. This program is designed to provide volunteers with the education and opportunity to support their local community and Extension Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) agents with food-related programming. Volunteers will be able to provide support by assisting with cooking and nutrition education, providing food safety classes, and conducting food demonstrations throughout the community.

The entire class schedule and application can be found at currituck.ces.ncsu.edu/2016/07/volunteers-needed-for-extension-master-food-volunteer-pilot-program/.
Individuals who are passionate about food, cooking, and nutrition, as well as those currently participating in Cooperative Extension programs are encouraged to join. There is no cost to participants for the pilot year of the program and participants will be given the opportunity to evaluate the program following the completion of the pilot year. If you are interested in becoming a part of the EMFV pilot program, please fill out an application and return it to the Currituck County Center, 120 Community Way, Barco, NC 27917.
