Join classroom and nonformal educators as we explore activities in the Project Learning Tree K-8 Curriculum Guide! Every participant will leave the workshop with the activity guide containing 96 activities, provided free of charge to participants through support from the NC Forestry Association. CEU renewal credits are available. This workshop qualifies for Criteria I or II in the EE Certification Program. Please bring a bag lunch and dress to be comfortable indoors and out.

Participants will learn about the materials through direct engagement in the PLT activities throughout the workshop, as well gaining confidence and skills for using outdoor learning environments through exploration of the museum's outdoor learning environment. Please make a personal commitment to attend to ensure there are enough materials and space for everyone, and cancel in a timely manner if your plans change.

Correlations: The K-8 Activity Guide includes 96 activities correlated to the NC Standard Course of Study and Essential Standards, as well as high school Biology and Earth & Environmental Sciences. Participants will learn to clean greenware eggs, (they will be fired in a kiln) and paint bisque ware.

Adults and children may participate who want to paint eggs and learn a skill. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Supplies needed: plastic container for water, we have a limited supply of cleaning tools and paint brushes. If you have your own please bring.

Supplies Needed: _bring 6 raw eggs, preferably medium size but large is okay NOT extra-large, pair of scissors for cutting silk, old towel or cloth to help keep eggs from rolling off the table!, a small tub or container for water, and something to carry the raw eggs home to finish the process.

Description of Class:_These beautiful unique dyed eggs are for decoration but not to eat! The lovely colors and textures from the silk fabrics are dyed in unique patterns on your eggs. The eggs will be boiled at home to complete the project. They can last for years IF you are careful not to crack the eggs! No two eggs will look alike and that adds to their beauty.
