New Classes and Workshops Open for Registration

Through our NC Cooperative Extension programs, we teach families and individuals how to grow staple food items, how to preserve surplus harvests, and how to cook and eat healthy. Through these learning opportunities, we are building healthy budgets and healthy people.

Our Family and Consumer Science (FCS) program is launching a series of food preservation workshops that aim to teach you how to preserve your harvest so that it may serve your budget and your belly well.

A list of classes and workshops has been added to our website, and more are still to come. Classes currently scheduled are:

  • Tomato Sauce Canning
  • Dehydrated Herbs and Custom Spice Blends
  • Dehydrated Fruit Snacks
  • Cooking With Herbs

Registration information as well as descriptions are found under our FCS programming Preserve the Harvest.

There are more offerings coming that will include sourdough starter, water bath canning, soups and broths, and blanching, to name a few. Join our Food, Nutrition, and Wellness mailing list to stay in the know about all future FCS classes and programs.
