Cyprian receives award from Gaston County School Board

On Monday, March 18, 2024, during the Gaston County School Board meeting Marcus Cyprian was recognized and received an award for his work on the partnership between Gaston County School Nutrition and N.C. Cooperative Extension  - Gaston County Center. Cyprian is the School Gardening Coordinator and works to implement school gardens through N.C. Cooperative Extension's Healthy Harvest curriculum.

Gaston County School Nutrition collaborated with N.C. Cooperative Extension to install an Urban Farm at their 500 Reid Street location in Lowell, NC. The farm currently provides a portion of the lettuce, carrots and tomatoes for salads served in the daily meal program for the school system.

We are so proud of Marcus and his accomplishments with this partnership and can't wait to see how this partnership continues to grow! Want to learn more about N.C. Cooperative Extension's Healthy Harvest program, contact Marcus Cyprian at mjcypria@ncsu.edu or 704.922.2124.
