GASTONIA, NC – N.C. Cooperative Extension, Gaston County Center is excited to announce its inaugural Volunteer Summit, an event designed to connect with the community, share our ongoing efforts, and, most importantly, listen to your valuable insights.

As your Gaston County Extension Director, I warmly invite all Gaston County residents to join us for an informative and engaging afternoon. This summit is a unique opportunity to:

  • Discover Our Programs and Initiatives: Learn about the wide range of services and educational programs Cooperative Extension offers, from agriculture and natural resources to family and consumer sciences, and 4-H youth development. See how our work directly impacts the well-being and prosperity of Gaston County.
  • Explore Volunteer Opportunities: Hear how you can become an integral part of our mission. We’ll highlight various volunteer roles and explain how your time and talents can make a significant difference in your community.
  • Participate in a Community Listening Forum: This is your chance to voice your concerns, share your ideas, and discuss the issues that matter most to you in Gaston County. Your feedback is crucial as we strive to address the evolving needs of our community and tailor our programs to serve you better.

We are committed to fostering a strong and responsive Cooperative Extension presence in Gaston County, and your participation in this summit is vital to achieving that goal. We believe that by working together, we can build a more vibrant and resilient community for everyone.

Event Details:

  • Date: Saturday, August 23, 2025
  • Time: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • Lunch Cost: $5.00 (cash or check may be paid in person at our Dallas Office, or mailed to: N.C. Cooperative Extension, PO Box 1578, Gastonia, NC  28053)  Lunch payment must be received no later than 3 days prior to the event date. 
  • Location: Gaston County Cooperative Extension Office, 1303 Dallas Cherryville Hwy, Dallas, NC 28034

Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP by August 15th to help us with planning by completing the Registration Form , calling our office at (704) 922-2111 or emailing jemungo@ncsu.edu.
