Winning the Battle Against Debt with Power Pay
Webinar
Make a plan before the holiday spending frenzy lands you in a tight place.
Let’s be honest. This time of year can be the most stressful part of the year for most people because of the financial demands of the season. Let’s break it down.
- November we celebrate Thanksgiving with a large family dinner.
- November we go on a shopping frenzy for Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, and a host of other labels that make us shop ’til we drop.
- December we do last minute extreme gift giving.
- December celebrate more holidays by hosting other large family and/or friend dinners and gatherings and more gift exchanges.
- December we plan for a New Year ‘s Eve celebration with food, party favors and possibly fireworks.
- January 1st we host another dinner for family and friends to celebrate the new year.
All the celebrations of the holiday season happen back to back for two months pressuring us to shop and spend money we don’t have to appease, our children, spouses, parents, friends, and to honor traditions. Then when the bills come due we struggle with how to pay them. We often make new year resolutions about losing weight or eating better, but how many make resolutions about paying down debt or not accumulating more debt? How many actually stick to those resolutions?
It’s time for a change don’t you think?
Gather your family and friends and embark on new traditions and new resolutions together this season with our Gaston County Cooperative Extension FCS financial management program. Join us for our Winning the Battle Against Debt with Power Pay. The webinar is free, the resources are free, and the tools we will work with are free.
