Homesteading: Backyard Basics
Homesteading: Backyard Basics is back for 2024! Join us for a day of learning about homesteading and extend your knowledge in various topics related to homesteading. This workshop is designed for homesteaders, beginner farmers, established farmers looking to diversify what you grow, agriculture or horticulture enthusiasts, and everyone in between.
You will have the opportunity to participate in two morning sessions and one afternoon session with lunch included. Tops this year include 3 returning workshops – Backyard Chickens & Livestock, Intro to Home Canning and Vegetable Gardening 101 – along with 6 new workshops – Intro to Dehydration, Homesteading Tool Care, Pollinators in Homesteading, Understanding Seeds, Growing Mushrooms and Perennial Food Crops. Participants will also receive a USB containing information and educational materials for all 9 workshops.
When: Saturday, Jan 20, 2024 @ 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Cost: $50 with a catered lunch included
Location: Citizen Resource Center (1303 Dallas Cherryville Hwy, Dallas NC)
